๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ We are honored to be a part of the 158th Ironton-Lawrence County Memorial Day Parade during our nation's 250th year ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
Today, we pause in gratitude and remembrance. We salute the brave men and women who have served our country, pray for those currently standing watch in defense of our freedoms, and honor the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their courage reminds us that freedom isn't free. May we never forget the cost paid by so many for the liberties we enjoy every day. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

The copper time capsule spent its first night at the former home of George N. Gray, the veteran who placed it in the corner of Memorial Hall about 135 years ago. Those who missed the ceremony can see it today at this home, The Lawrence County Museum at 506 South 6th Street from 1:00 - 4:00 pm.

On Saturday, a time capsule was pulled from the cornerstone of Memorial Hall.
The copper box will be held at the Lawrence County Historical Society until July 28, when it will be opened up exactly 135 years after it was sealed up.
See Wednesday's issue of The Tribune for the full story and photos.
