Beyond an observational viewing experience, Donald Martiny encourages engagement and participation with the painting. By eschewing the ground (canvas or panel) altogether, the painting directly addresses the viewer and relates more dynamically to the space around it.

These massive brushstrokes offer a potent exchange, inviting the viewer closer, even inside the work. The intimacy is instantaneous and intensely visceral.

Email or call the gallery to inquire about available works from Martiny’s collection.

Summer is in full swing! ☀️ KOLLABS invites audiences to see the season’s familiar environments from a different perspective.

Through the artists’ interpretations of the subject matter, viewers are encouraged to reflect on the existence and connection between human and animal beings.

We are pleased to announce representation of Anise Aiello. Anise grew up visiting the gallery, where her parents—both Diehl Gallery represented artists—exhibited their work.

As a child, she was often found drawing on the gallery floor, immersed in the world around her.

Now an internationally exhibited artist with a practice grounded in research and material exploration, she returns as one of our newest artists—marking a meaningful full circle.

Anise's practice is grounded in academic research, a connection to water, and a deep commitment to detail and craft.

Please join us in welcoming Anise to Diehl Gallery!

Diehl Gallery is pleased to offer "Double Section", 1975 by Craig Kauffman.

"Double Section" belongs to Kauffman’s highly regarded “Constructed Paintings” series, a pivotal body of work produced between 1973 and 1976 in which the artist expanded the language of painting into three-dimensional form.

Departing from the vacuum-formed acrylic reliefs for which he first became known, Kauffman combined shaped supports, stretched muslin, and subtly modulated color to create works that blur the boundaries between painting, sculpture, and architecture.

Monumental in scale and quietly atmospheric, "Double Section" exemplifies the sophistication of Kauffman’s mature practice, balancing geometric structure with an elegant sensitivity to light, shadow, and spatial perception.

The work was included in the 2023 exhibition Craig Kauffman: Constructed Paintings 1973–1976 at Sprüth Magers in London, a major reappraisal of this important period in the artist’s career.

We are incredibly proud to see Robert Mars work featured in the latest issue of Architectural Digest, showcasing the home of actor Patina Miller and Robert’s brother, David Mars.

The featured artwork, titled "Hip Hop Royalty", is a deeply personal project.

Created as a collaboration between the two brothers, the piece serves as a "Mount Rushmore of rap"—featuring legendary MCs like Queen Latifah, Slick Rick, Rakim, and Nas (a business partner of David’s).

Painting primarily in encaustic, the ancient medium of molten beeswax, natural resin & pigment, Chris Reilly uses a blowtorch to create, destroy & preserve his lush surfaces depicting the sublime nature of flora and fauna.

A compelling example of Reilly’s practice, “Indigo Couple” is available. Inquire for additional details.
