Something new is being unlocked aboard the USS Orleck.

A completely original escape room adventure is in the early stages of development, blending naval history, suspense, and hands-on problem solving into an experience unlike anything else on the ship.

Can you uncover the clues, solve the mystery, and escape before time runs out?

Our team is just beginning the journey of bringing this immersive attraction to life, with a target opening sometime in October or November 2026. As the project takes shape, we'll be sharing updates, sneak peeks, and behind-the-scenes looks along the way.

The Orleck Amateur Radio Society (OARS) would like to thank everyone who helped make this year's Museum Ships on the Air Weekend a tremendous success aboard the USS Orleck.

Throughout the weekend, amateur radio operators connected with fellow radio enthusiasts across the United States and around the world while sharing the history and mission of the USS Orleck with visitors. Guests had the opportunity to see amateur radio in action, learn about communications technology, and experience firsthand how radio operators continue to build connections across great distances.

We are grateful to our volunteer operators, visiting hams, museum staff, supporters, and guests whose enthusiasm and dedication made the event possible. Events like Museum Ships on the Air help preserve the stories of historic naval vessels while introducing new generations to the hobby and public service tradition of amateur radio.

Thank you to everyone who participated, visited, and helped share the legacy of the USS Orleck. We look forward to hearing you on the air and welcoming you back aboard next year!

📡⚓ MUSEUM SHIPS ON THE AIR WEEKEND ⚓📡
Join us aboard the historic USS Orleck
for Museum Ships On The Air Weekend on June 6-7!
The Jacksonville Naval Museum is proud to participate alongside museum ships and amateur radio operators from around the world in this exciting international event. Hosted in partnership with the North Florida Amateur Radio Society (NOFARS) and guest operators from across the region, visitors will have the opportunity to watch live amateur (HAM) radio communications from aboard one of America’s most decorated destroyers.
This year, operators will be broadcasting under the Orleck Amateur Radio Society (OARS) club call sign: WJ4DD. The Museum Ships Weekend amateur radio event takes place June 6–7, 2026. During this 48-hour global event, ham radio operators broadcast directly from the decks of historic vessels, allowing enthusiasts to contact over 100 participating ships worldwide

During your visit, you’ll be able to:
