Cathy Germay: Fine Artist My art is about living with a genetic disorder, HHT, chronic pain, and the resiliency of the spirit.

Cathy Germay uses her experiences with chronic pain as a gateway to explore the threshold where the negative effects of medical intervention outweigh its benefits. She explores this topic through painting and mixed media arts.

The 2026 Westminster Art Festival Awards night is this Friday, May 15, 5-7 pm. Art juror Maya James and poetry juror Alison Swan will be with us to present the awards. Poetry books will be available and of course there'll be time to view the art exhibit. It'll be a fun evening!

Happy Earth Day! This painting, "The socioeconomic hierarchy of Pollution," will be at the Westminster Art Festival opening Saturday 4pm-7pm. I would love to be there, but I'll have just had surgery 2 days before so it will depend on how I feel. Regardless if I attend, you should! There's good art, good people, good music and good snacks!

A huge shout out, and thanks to Jenny and Kristin of Buffering the Vampire Slayer! I was trying to collect the CDs of all their songs from Buffering, alas, Season four and five were sold out. But the mystical forces aligned, and Jenny and Kristin found one more copy of each and sent them to me free of charge! Seriously, your kindness has made my entire YEAR! You guys are the best! Combined, the United States, China, India, and Russia produce between 50% to 60% of the total carbon emissions of the planet. The richest 1% contribute 16%.
We have the technology to use 100% clean energy. So why aren’t we? It comes down to money. The big energy companies contribute significantly to political candidates, and in return, influence energy policies. Companies make record profits while polluting the planet. Meanwhile, it is the poor, living in the shadow of these factories, that must deal with the consequences.
It is time to dismantle the system, and envision a world with clean energy. After all, we only have one planet.
