Sunday, November 1, 2:00p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Workshop by local artist Juliet Maya.

Step back into the streets of your childhood and explore how the places we grew up in shape who we are. Inspired by The House on Mango Street, we will revisit the neighborhoods, houses, parks, people, streets, and familiar corners that live in our memories.

Through collage and conversation, we will transform fragments of personal memories into a collective map of the places we once called home. Bring a memory, a story, or simply a place that still stays with you—and let’s piece together the streets that made our childhood.

No art experience necessary. Just bring your memories.

This event is part of our 2026 La Crosse Community Read program series. All are welcome to attend, reading the book is not necessary to participate in programs and events.

Next week's Monday Mornings at Main will feature an author talk from Inga Orth!

Inga Orth is the author of Unpasteurized Inga, a memoir with recipes about food, farming, family, and finding your own way. A fourth-generation dairy farmer and licensed Wisconsin cheesemaker, Inga is the former host and co-creator of the PBS Wisconsin series Around the Farm Table, where she spent a decade telling the stories of Wisconsin’s farmers, cooks, and food makers. Today, she lives and works on her small dairy farm in western Wisconsin, where she makes farmstead cheese, writes, cooks, and continues to tell stories about rural life.
