June Featured Artist Judith Burns works primarily in Acrylics with occasional forays into collage and mixed media. Judith shares the story behind one of her featured pieces, “Papillon de Fleur” – a 20 x 24 acrylic on canvas. She explains, “The star of my flower grouping is the Butterfly Amaryllis. A few years ago, I found the bulb pictured in a catalogue labeled Papillon de fleurs. They were amazing. I knew immediately I wanted to paint it. So, I ordered the rather expensive bulb, planted it, and waited for the bloom. It did not disappoint. It was spectacular and I couldn’t wait to paint it.”
