Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas From prehistoric creatures to fabulous showgirls, explore the story of Nevada and Las Vegas. The museum is open Thursday to Monday, 9am - 4pm.

Tickets are required for non members for entry - book here: https://bit.ly/3cS7Eba. Members can show their membership cards on entry. The Nevada State Museum offers an interactive visitor experience that interprets the history of Nevada dating back millions of years to the present. Across a 13,000 square-foot permanent exhibit gallery visitors will find how geology shaped the Great Basin and Nevad

a, learn of the early flora and fauna that roamed this once great sea. Hear the story of Native Americans, pioneers, early settlers, miners, railroaders, ranchers and entrepreneurs. Learn about the Hoover Dam, the atomic era and the rise of Las Vegas as the resort capital of the world. The museum also features a research library, educational labs and a store.

Discover a quieter way to explore the Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas!

During Sensory-Friendly Exploration Hours, we welcome visitors one hour before the Museum opens to the general public.

Available support may include noise-canceling headphones, sensory backpacks, weighted accessories, fidget tools, visual aids, a quiet space for breaks, adjusted exhibit lighting and sound effects, and accessible exhibit pathways.

Join the Nevada State Museum every Saturday to discover the concept behind Animal Flow, presented by The Strip Movement. Animal Flow will help in building strength and flexibility while moving through poses based upon the animals found in Nevada’s natural environment. These movements will help combat the stiffness we develop through sitting during the week. ⁠

Every week we will focus on a new desert-dwelling animal with a fresh series of poses relating to their lifestyle. This program is great for all ages, including families and seniors!⁠
