FloodLight Art Studio

FloodLight Art Studio Let my work be a reflection of the one who created me. I chose the name FloodLight Art Studio for several reasons..
1.

Mathew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. We are to be a light to the nations in everything we do, I hope I can do so through my art.
2. A floodlight usually comes on when passerbys come near or impending danger is near, I want to be a help to those in need while showing others they can be a light as well in a d

ark place.
3. My studio has so many windows that a flood of light beams through most of the day making it a great workplace to paint and design.

Recap of 1st half of 2026 includes me joining The Milan Art Institute, becoming team lead at my fulltime job, participating in an art exhibit in downtown Lincolnton, being a participant in the Homestead and Artisan event in Cornelius and later the Foothills FolkArt Festival in downtown Newton, a trip to Georgia to see my nieces daughter in The Diary of Anne Frank play, a trip to Greenville South Carolina for Artisphere, my husband ending up in the ER getting his finger sewed up after clipping it with a grinder, another visit to Urgent Care for continuous nosebleeds that don’t like to stop, me getting sick with a bad sinus infection that has lingered for six weeks with a cough, porch repairs, studio floor repairs, deck repairs, selling at auctions, selling online on marketplace , my husband and I paying off doctor bills after his heart attack last year, paying off my car I bought a year and half ago and paying off our house my husband and I have been chipping away at for five years, and of course the art I’ve created all in between. It feels like we accomplished very little and then I realize we’ve done soooo much! We are go getters and we never stand still. Life keeps moving and we are moving along with the cycle of life! Unfortunately I haven’t had time or energy to do any more drawings or paintings lately but this recap will give you an idea of what all is going on and why.

Come on out to see FllodLight Artist and Mike Jones woodworking at The Foothills FolkArt Festival today between 10-4 pm.

Floodlight enthusiasts and friends, we cordially invite you to attend this Saturday’s Foothills FolkArt event . I will be showcasing several of my newest paintings I have completed through the Milan Art Institute and I would love for someone to buy my first student painting of the parrot this weekend as it was one of my course challenges. I have quite a few pieces of art going into this event and my husband will also be showcasing his handcrafted furniture and smalls in the mix. Please come out and shop with us and support your local artisans who work really hard to create something special you will love! See you there!

If you work a fulltime job every day you know how hard it is to put blood, sweat, and tears into someone else’s dream. The company you work for had a vision, a dream, and they accomplished it with your help. Sometimes I crave to see my dreams come to fruition just like these big companies do but in a smaller more personal scale. I have been putting blood, sweat and tears into my art the past five years aiming to get better, aiming to learn more, try new techniques, get better with my skill. I have a lot of art that represents all of the hard work I’ve put in but people don’t realize what that means to me. Or what it could mean to you if you supported this artist. I am not begging for sales although it would be great if you saw something on my page you loved enough to buy, however I am asking that you take one of my reel post from Instagram or Facebook and share the reel with several of your friends. The algorithms of social media dictate exposure only by your engagement. If you engage enough they think 🤔hmmm this must be worth sharing and then it gets more exposure. It takes an army sometimes to do this and then sometimes it just takes a few close friends who care enough to support their friend. Please run through my page, watch a few of my painting reels and pick one you love and share please on my behalf to help me as an artist get exposure in this so hard market. Anyone can buy a piece of art in the form of a print on a cheap canvas in a store for a fraction of the price but you aren’t buying that persons passion, their creativity or even there long dedicated hrs to make something of beauty or relevance. You can’t buy a knockoff and get the same feel with every brushstroke or blend of tone and saturations and color or even the mood of that painting. That only comes from real art that represents beauty from within the artist to express and pull it into a canvas and make you feel something. Please share some of my reels and I would be so grateful if you did. Love FloodLight Artist!

Hi FloodLight fans and followers. It’s been a a bit since I’ve posted any content. I would like to say life gets in the way (which it does) but I’ve had a shift in focus this past month. I have literally had no paintings on the easle in over a month but instead my focus has been in different directions. Here is what is going on at the moment at the studio and in my life. I currently have 7 paintings exhibited at the Essence of Nature exhibit at NoCo Art Gallery in Newton NC until middle of September. This weekend my husband and I will have our little at home antique shop open on Saturday 8-3. If you don’t know about our little side hobby, go check out Southern Wood & Paint on fb and follow to see all of our cool finds and builds and come out to visit. Then to top everything off we have a lot of shows we are doing til the end of the year like
Sept. 6…. Art In The Park in Hickory at Womens Resources Center.
Sept 13….Tractor Supply Farmers and Makers market in Lincolnton,
Sept 27 ….Tawba Art Walk in Catawba 2-8 pm and
Oct 11….Redbone Willie’s Gypsy Farm Fair
November 29… Laboratory Mill Christmas Show
Whew!!! I’m tired thinking about it all but here is another cool fact on top of all that…. About a month ago I was told I would be displaced from my job as a Quality Control Specialist after being in this position for almost five years. In two weeks I will start training as a Team Lead in a specific area of my work place. It is by the hands of my Faithful God that I acquired this position and it included a little bit of me just jumping out in faith(scared out of my mind) Kindof of situation. The past two weeks as well I have had more focus on helping my husband paint furniture along with creating some scrap wood art in the studio as well so although I’m not slinging paint on canvas, I’m still being creative in other ways. I will post some pics later of some of these scrap wood art pieces. As for now, if you read this far, man thanks… that means the world to me. It means maybe you care… to you I say God bless and I hope you enjoy hearing all my good news. Here is a sneak peak at one I started.
