Announcing a NEW event series: Nature Walks at Wabash & Erie Canal Park!

There is an abundance of historical and ecological treasures along the 6+ miles of trails at Wabash & Erie Canal Park, and we want you to know more about them! These monthly walks are free to the public, open to all ages and skills, and mostly on flat terrain and crushed stone trails. The length ranges from less than a mile to nearly two miles, but you can join for whatever duration makes sense for you.

These walks will be led by Canal Park's knowledgeable and welcoming volunteers. Check out the schedule for the year, or you can get more information on our website: https://wabashanderiecanal.org/series/nature-walks-2026/

Last week, our Junior Board met for their monthly meeting and heard from Heather Fouts and Jill Snyder at the Cass County Historical Society. The Historical Society has been a key partner in helping us learn about our own history in this special year. We also learned about all that the downtown museum currently holds and what is planned in the near future, and we got to take a tour of the Long Home Museum. It was fun to step back in time for a moment!

This year more than ever, we've been "Rooted in History, Focused on the Future" as we've celebrated our 100th anniversary. We've reflected on our past and looked forward to so many exciting changes on the horizon. Logansport and Cass County is full of unique history, and we are proud to have been part of it for the last century. This group of kids is special for many reasons, but particularly to be documented as members of our Junior Board during this milestone celebration. Here's to ending our 100th year and starting the next with excitement and anticipation for all that's to come!
