We love making new friends at The Explore-It-Torium Children’s Museum of Marion! And today we are glad that our newest friend Susan Nations from the Sarasota Children’s Museum in Florida stopped by for a visit.

Susan is the executive director of the Sarasota Children’s Museum, located in Sarasota on the beautiful Gulf Coast of Florida. Originally from Marion, Susan enjoyed a long career in public education before retiring to become the director of the children’s museum this year.

Kelsey Williams, the business development director for MARCA Industries and manager of The Explore-It-Torium, gave Susan a tour of the museum today and they spent quality time talking with each other, sharing experiences and ideas, and building a new and exciting partnership.

After the tour, Susan bought some merchandise from the reMARCAble retail store located inside The Explore-It-Torium!

It was truly a great time and we are so glad to have a new friend and partner in the Sarasota Children’s Museum! Thanks for joining us today, Susan!

Closed Friday this week for the Juneteenth holiday.

Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday for Father's Day. Dads get in for free on Father's Day!

HOLIDAY CLOSING SCHEDULE: The Explore-It-Torium will be closed in observance of the Juneteenth holiday on Friday, June 19.

The museum will be open on Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21 during regular business hours.

Father's Day is coming up on Sunday, June 21 and in honor of that occasion, all dads and granddads will be granted free admission to The Explore-It-Torium on their special day!

Come and join us at The Explore-It-Torium Children’s Museum on July 18 for the O-H-I-Oh! What a Celebration Birthday Block Party!

This is your invitation to Marion's BIG America 250 celebration weekend, which is just a few weeks away.

July 16-19, Marion is rolling out the red, white, and blue with celebrations to mark the country's semiquincentennial.

Downtown Marion, Inc. kicks off the celebration with the July Third Thursday on July 16. Friday, July 17, highlights Marion history with a special homecoming picnic and activities at the Harding Presidential Sites and Etowah, the former home of the King family. Saturday, July 18, begins with the traditional wreath-laying ceremony at the Harding Memorial, followed by a block party celebration at The Explore-It-Torium. Wrap up your Saturday evening with a concert by Marty Stuart at the Marion Palace Theatre. And don't miss Sunday, July 19th's old-fashioned ice cream social at The Marion Women's Club & Home. Relax after a full weekend when United in Harmony performs a patriotic tribute at the Summer Concert in the Park Series at McKinley Park.

Lots of fun activities happening this weekend in Marion County!

Be sure to make some time to stop by and have some fun with your kids at The Explore-It-Torium Children's Museum!

We're open until 8 p.m. today, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday! Admission is $6.00 for folks age 1-year old and older.

🕛 Pick-up Time: 12:00 – 1:30 p.m.

Limit one bag per child
You do NOT need to be an MCS student to participate
