Next up // Sheet Cake is pleased to present Four of Hearts - a meditation on the realms beyond. The artworks of this show are conduits for spiritual and ancestral knowledge, connecting viewers more deeply with both the natural world and the universe at large. Works from artists across various mediums explore the ways we gather, connect, and remember.

Through quilting, printmaking, and collage, MengCheng 梦城团 Collective’s pieces explore the intersecting layers of Chinese mythologies and motifs of the American South.

Opening night on March 7, 5:00-7:30pm will mark the launch of the long-awaited book Jia Pu 家谱: Cooking Our Way Home; Recipes, Art & Stories from the Asian American South by MengCheng 梦城团 Collective.

To dive deeper into the themes of the show and book, .tn will host Grief Talks, an evening of artist talk, community ritual, and somatic movement on March 16, 6:00-7:30pm.

Weather thwarted us before, but we are very excited to invite you to an intimate, ticketed dinner & a preview (take 2) at the gallery on Thursday, 01.29.2026 with some of our dearest friends! Presented by Sheet Cake Gallery and Etowah Collective, dinner will be prepared by our guest chef and painter Roscoe Hall - who will also have work on view in counterspace at the gallery. Dinner includes wine pairings from Rootstock Wine Merchants, hors d'oeurves by JEM and cocktails from Bar Limina. Dinner, plus a delicious preview of new solo exhibitions from Keiko Gonzalez and Leanna Hicks Carey, opening to the public on Saturday, 01.31.2026. It's going to be a beautiful evening!

About the chef //
Chef Roscoe Hall has built a wide-ranging career across some of the country’s most respected kitchens, from pioneering fine-dining institutions to acclaimed Southern smokehouses. He has cooked at Chez Panisse, Momofuku Ssäm Bar, Rodney Scott’s BBQ, Le Pigeon, and numerous other restaurants and private tables, gathering a perspective that bridges tradition and innovation. Today, he shares that experience through culinary storytelling with Food & Wine, while also working as an educator and consultant in community food development.

November shenanigans continued... We invited 11 artists to reimagine two of the Major Arcana Tarot cards in the first of a two part presentation of the Tarot. We have some sweet surprises in store for you with this one - and stay tuned for part two to come in spring 2026.

"Tarot has arguably become iconic of the esoteric. The imagery of its 78 cards, with their intricate and mysterious symbology, seems to many, emblematic of the shadow world of the occult, of the obscure corners of intuition and superstition, the places where magic and ancient ritual reign.

Centuries of visionary exploration and thousands of creative hands - by mystics and artists often working in collaboration have continually transformed Tarot's symbolic meanings.... Today, Tarot is embraced not so much as a method of telling the future, but rather as creative muse, supporting meditative, therapeutic, and artistic pursuits... Like all esoteric traditions, the Tarot is mutable and elastic..."

Sheet Cake is pleased to announce Joel Parsons’ first solo exhibition at the gallery - Club Rapture and the Ecstasy Afters will open on Saturday, 04.05 from 5 - 7:30 PM and is not to be missed.

Club Rapture and the Ecstasy Afters will continue building Parsons’ speculative dance club for “we who feel otherwise” in a world on fire. This space and the feelings and ideas expressed within are all too timely given our current reality.

From Parsons: “In the ecstatic architecture of smoke and light, in swirls of Mylar confetti and sprays of sweat and champagne, in love and lust, we writhe and grind against the too-rational grid of the light-up disco dancefloor. We discover the limits and possibilities of our bodies through the pressure of bodies dancing with and against us, desire made flesh. We understand each other corporeally, partaking in a knowledge embodied and shared freely on the dance floors of the Stonewall Inn and Pulse Nightclub and my local gay bar.”
