It's officially fall! And now that it's the end of the warm weather season, I have some bandanas left over to sell! They would make wonderful Christmas gifts!
I have some summer colors and some perfect for fall! They are $20 each.
I can ship, if needed, but you will pay the extra shipping costs.

(I will try to update this post as the different colors are sold.)

I haven't been working on any new commissions this year yet, but I have a few from Christmas that I still haven't posted about! I'll be sharing some of them and other projects I've been working on soon!

Starting off!
This is "Dinah" 8x10 watercolor
I really love seeing how my clients frame and style their portraits! This photo of it on her mantle with Dinah in the picture makes me so happy! What a precious gift to be able to give someone something that brings so much joy! I'm so honored to paint these pet portraits! πŸ’—

This is the beautiful, stunning, and absolutely lovely Luna! I was honored to be commissioned to paint her as a gift for Andrea Dietz. ❀
Funny story; originally it was going to be a Christmas gift! But when her mother saw the painting, she just couldn't wait to show Andrea! πŸ˜‚ That made me so happy! And, at least now I don't have to wait until after Christmas to post about it!

I have more Christmas commissions I'm working on right now that I'll be able to share soon!

I wanted to finally post an update here about what's been going on. For those of you who don't know, I have several chronic health issues that will sometimes flare and prevent me from working on my art projects.
A few weeks ago I was hospitalized for one of those flares and due to the severity, I have had to relocate from Memphis, TN to Nashville, TN for specialized treatment.
Due to that, I have decided to take a break from commission work to focus on my health.
I hope to find a solution to working despite the traveling situation, but for now, I'm going to
My new team at Vanderbilt and I are working on developing a long term plan for treatment., but for now a lot of questions about travel and housing remain up in the air.
Due to that, I've decided to take an indefinite break from working on commissions to focus on my health.
I want you all to know how sad I am to be prevented from working on these projects. I have been totally blown away by the positive response to my artwork! Please know that I'm going to be working hard to get better soon so I can continue the work I've promised to start!
Don't worry, even though I will not be working on commissions, I still plan on making art!
I'm currently in the beginning phase of designing some t-shirts to help raise funds for travel and housing expenses.
If you are interested in following my health journey or supporting me and my family, you can follow me here, on Facebook, or find my Caring Bridge page: KJ's Mountain Movers.
I will try and post the link to that on my profile.
And I will continue to keep you all updated here as well, as best I can!

My latest commission done!
"Kissing Rebel" by Katie Jo Bailey

It toches my heart in a special way when I get to paint an animal that has passed on. I hope this painting of Rebel and his owner brings back lots of happy memories every time she sees it!

These pieces hold a special place in my heart! This is Duncan, the puppy my cancer doctor at St. Jude got around the same time I started treatment. We bonded over dogs as I missed my own dog at home.
Eventually my doctor decided it was time for her to move on to a new hospital. I knew I would miss her desperately, but most of all I would miss our conversations about Duncan! :) so I decide to give her a going away gift; a portrait of Duncan, something for her to remember me by! This was my first ever pet portrait! And it made me fall in love with the process, but more importantly, the joy of the person who receives it. So that's a part of why I do this, to spread happiness and fond memories in those who love their pets!
My life has been changed forever by my experience at St. Jude! The staff there are wonderful and always full of compliments when I show off my artwork. Someday I hope to be commissioned by the hospital to make artwork for them! For now, I'm happy to have made one special doctor very happy with a thoughtful piece she can have forever. πŸΎπŸ’—

I love plants so much! And I also love to make sure they have a fun and beautiful home to live in! That's why I enjoy painting flowerpots, either for myself, or to give as gifts! Here are a few I've done over the years, some you can see are being utilized as the happy little homes they should be!
I'll post some more as videos in a part two!

Here are some examples of my favorite watercolor portraits I have done! Watercolors and gouache paints are such a fun medium to work with. They can be temperamental at times but there are so many ways you can utilize them! They are by far my favorite to work with! 😊
