Artopia was the studio for Pervis Young, one of the most prolific artists of our time, Miami’s prominent outsider artist. The art collection at Artopia is traditional, contemporary and indigenous - comprised of artwork by a wide array of artists; from American, Latin American, Cuban masters to contemporary emerging painters and sculptors.

—> Internationally recognized, award-winning Sculptor & Visual Artist Mylene Costa enters the season with an exceptional global exhibition on the island of Crete in Greece, participating in Select Art 2026 at Villa Moma in Chania, Crete, Greece from May 23–25, 2026 organized by World Of Crete IKE. For this presentation, the artist will be showing sculptures Guilhermina, and Greta, two works that continue Costa’s research into matter, presence, and the sculptural body. Mylene Costa’s participation in Select Art 2026 marks another important international milestone in the artist’s rapidly expanding trajectory, further positioning her sculptural practice within a global dialogue surrounding materiality, presence, and contemporary form. Presented at the prestigious Villa Moma in Chania, Crete from May 23–25, 2026, the exhibition brings together an international selection of galleries, artists, antiques, and collectors from 35+ countries for one of the Mediterranean region’s most refined cultural gatherings. VIP Opening Night for Select Art 2026 will take place on Saturday, May 23rd. --> NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale brings Rob Pruitt’s Flea Market back to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, April 26th from 12 – 5pm for its encore. The internationally renowned contemporary artist has been staging his nomadic flea markets around the world since 1999, in locations from New York to London’s Tate Gallery and at NSU Art Museum in 2021. Pruitt is inviting local artists to sell their art and wares during the one-day happening, which will be held at NSU Art Museum (One East Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL). RSVP via link. Taking the form of a traditional open-air bazaar, Rob Pruitt’s Flea Market is an opportunity to meet artists and take home an original artwork in a relaxed atmosphere. --> The art world is gearing up for the 28th Contemporary Art International Zurich art fair May 8 - 10, 2026, taking place at Puls 5 Hall, Zürich, Switzerland. The art fair explores a range of themes, from identity and migration to memory, depictions of nature and landscapes, and questions of spirituality, urbanization and social change. It also addresses global issues such as resilience in times of crisis, ecological responsibility and the search for belonging. Alongside figurative and realistic pieces, there are expressive, pop-surrealist and conceptual works that combine emotional depth with formal precision. Many of the pieces are interdisciplinary, combining different art forms to create multilayered visual spaces influenced by cultures from around the world. The exhibition offers new perspectives beyond the European mainstream and promotes dialogue between continents, generations and disciplines. It acts as an international forum for contemporary art, providing a diverse panorama that highlights global developments and broadens our view of the future. --> Enjoy the 9th Annual “Art from the Heart” Gala on Saturday, April 25th from 6 – 9pm. Experience Art from the Heart, a fun in-person event where creativity and passion come alive! Family Resource Center is hosting their 9th Annual Art From The Heart gala at Mana Wynwood. They have artists donate pieces of their art to their agency and sold through a silent auction during the evening. Last year, they had about 150 artwork. Tickets are $100, open bar event, with different restaurants stationed at tables serving their most famous hors d’oeuvres. RSVP via link.

--> Explore the Work of Miami-based Artist Yamily Castillo, Where Earth, Sea, and Texture Converge. Yamily Castillo is a Miami-based contemporary artist and founder of Atelier Viento. Her work explores the relationship between material, movement, and landscape through layered compositions using sand, mineral elements, and acrylic. Drawing inspiration from coastal and geological formations, her paintings evoke both stillness and depth, bridging physical texture with emotional presence. Castillo is set to present a new body of work in a solo exhibition at Spectrum Art Fairs during Art Basel Miami Beach Week December 2–7, 2026, marking an exciting milestone in her evolving practice.
