From fireflies to moths to dobsonflies, night can be a great time to find our favorite summer bugs! Join director of education, Kensey Amerson for an evening learning about insects, catching fireflies in mason jars, and observing moths and other light attracting critters on a light sheet.

Luna moth! If you look close, you’ll notice this adult moth doesn’t have a mouth! That’s because it doesn’t have any plans on eating. Luna moths live about a week as adults, and their only job is to find a mate and lay eggs.

Come to Lockerly’s Night Bugs evening program June 4 to learn more about cool nocturnal insects!
