Genesee Valley Council on the Arts GVCA is a nonprofit arts organization serving Livingston and Monroe Counties, home to the historic New Deal Museum. Please join GVCA and get creative!

We offer exhibits, events, and classes that connect our community through creative expression 🎨🖌️🎶 Genesee Valley Council on the Arts has been Livingston County's official arts council for 50 years and we are excited for the next 50. GVCA is a community arts center with a multitude of activities including 3 galleries (free of charge to visit), a historic 1930s art collection, yoga and art classes,

a gift shop filled with locally made artisanal items, and open studios for anyone in the community to use for a low rate!

Originally from Buffalo, Rose is a senior majoring in Art History with a passion for creativity and connection through the arts. 🎨 Rose discovered her path after taking an art history class in college and quickly realized she wanted to pursue a career that combined her love for creativity with a deeper understanding of humanity. As an artist herself, she’s inspired by the creators who came before us and believes art history helps uncover who we are at our core.

A shout out to our amazing intern Caitlyn DeLong ✨Catie is a senior studying History and Museum Studies at SUNY Geneseo

“I’m passionate about the arts in all forms, but especially in bringing art further into the field of history. Much of my work has focused on the usage of the arts and media to translate history and individual, typically marginalized, voices that are often lost in traditional methods of telling history. I also love live music and have been to over 70 shows, with 3 lined up so far this summer!”
