🍞 The Hosmer's Inn Historic Dinner is an authentic 19th-century meal. Sit down to seven courses and some historical entertainment in an inn that welcomed its first guests in 1818.

🎃 Follow the pumpkins! 🎃

Village Square will be adorned with pumpkins and lanterns for Trick-or-Treat this weekend. At porches around the square, trick-or-treaters can visit with costumed interpreters, collecting candy and toy treats along the way! And don't miss the magic show, children's storytelling, and the costume parade (1 p.m. at the Tollhouse).

Save the date for Yuletide in the Country! Tickets go on sale for Museum Members on Thursday, October 22, and for the general public on Tuesday, October 27.

As we continue to celebrate our 50th anniversary year, this Yuletide season we'll revisit some of the most beloved moments from years past. From lively winter balls and unruly tavern tales to candlelit homes, carols in the church, and the quiet magic of St. Nicholas, these returning vignettes remind us why this tradition has endured.

❄️ From the farms and kitchens to the homes and shops, see the Historic Village buzzing with preparations as we explore how 19th-century New Yorkers got ready for the cold weather ahead.

❄️ Make something by hand. Try your hand at candle-dipping or pomander-making, or bring your own sewing or knitting project and join a cozy craft circle around the hearth with our costumed interpreters.

❄️ Find something special. Browse the Holiday Market, where dozens of local vendors and our own tradespeople offer unique handcrafted items and gift-giving inspiration.

Tonia Lora-Galban (Mohawk Bear Clan) has been making black ash baskets from start to finish this season, using traditional Indigenous methods.

It's a beautiful process to witness, and this Saturday is the last demonstration from Tonia this season, where she'll display a basket she made that is a replica of one in our collections.
