Fire at Murfreesboro on the west side of the public square. Businesses suffering loss or damage were listed as: H. H. Kerr's Hardware; Isaac Rosenfield Dry Goods; Wm. Fleishman Dry Goods and Notions; M. Nathan & Co. Dry Goods and Notions; J. S. Blumenthal Dry Goods, Groceries, & Liquors. All of these buildings were totally, destroyed together with most of the contents.
The establishments of Delbridge & Delbridge Restaurant and Saloon; L. Guggenheim Saloon; R. Blanton, wagonmaker; and W. R. Fox Livery Stable were damaged by fire and water.
The losses were estimated at about $35,000, which is covered by insurance.
