UNEARTHED STEED is by Canadian painter, Maggie Rose who graduated cm laude from the New York Academy of Art in 2001. Rose has garnered numerous accolades including the Forbes Foundation Grant and the Prince of Wales Scholarship. She also has a rich exhibition history spanning two continents. As a champion of women and civil rights, Sculptor Alan LeQuire has had the opportunity and privilege to sculpt many portraits of African American Women in his career, including renowned educator and suffragist, J. Frankie Pierce.

Pierce is one of five suffragists honored in LeQuire's TENNESSEE WOMAN SUFFRAGE MONUMENT located at Centennial Park, Nashville. This special exhibition in the Parthenon's East Gallery offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at sculptor Alan LeQuire's creation of the Nashville Athena Parthenos, featuring vivid, large-scale photographs that document the years of research, craftsmanship, construction and determination that brought the 42-foot statue to life.
