We are pleased to announce the availability of several rescue animals for adoption. Five endearing male rats are looking for new homes. Female rats will be available soon and must be kept separate from males. Our pigeon collection includes birds with varying physical abilities, including one that is unable to fly due to previous injuries and another with a healed leg injury that does not impede mobility much. If you are interested in adopting, please submit an email request for an application @ [email protected] A small adoption fee is required. As always, donations to support our rescue efforts are welcome.

Did you know?
I bury 3,000 nuts every fall and forget where I put 74% of them
Those "forgotten" nuts become your future trees
I can jump 10 feet horizontally and 4 feet vertically
My tail acts as a parachute, blanket, and communication device
I plant more trees than most conservation programs
One of me can reforest 25 acres in my lifetime
The truth: I'm not stealing. I'm accidentally creating your future forest.

A hollow tree isn’t empty — it’s full of life fighting to survive winter.

Raccoons rely on dry inner chambers to conserve heat.
Flying squirrels stash nuts in hidden cavities.
Owls perch inside sheltered hollows to escape storms.
Beetles, moths, spiders, and countless invertebrates overwinter in its protected layers.

When we cut down every dead or hollow tree “for safety,”
we erase one of the most critical winter habitats left in our landscapes.

If a hollow trunk isn’t threatening your home,
leave it standing.
For wildlife, it’s the difference between shelter and starvation.

Mayflower High School EAST student Thomas Medley has been hard at work designing and 3D-printing wildlife habitat structures for our community partner Wildlife Matters 🦝🖨️

Thomas created cylindrical habitat modules that can be customized in length depending on the species that will use them. He’s pictured here with his prototype watering bowl, designed to securely attach to the side of habitat enclosures. 💧🔧

We can’t wait to see what he dreams up next as he continues improving and perfecting his current prototype designs. This young innovator is making a real impact! 🌿💡

Sweet little babies, cuddling as soon as they got out together! They just don’t do well alone. They instantly cuddled and calmed down when put together.
