Maggie Puzey is a contemporary painter whose work explores the quiet intersection of nature, memory, and myth.

Working in muted palettes and fluid, intuitive marks, she creates imagery that is both familiar and dreamlike—capturing subjects as if they are being remembered rather than observed.

Her paintings often focus on symbols of the wild: animals, relics, and natural forms that carry a sense of history and spirit.

Maggie’s style is defined by gentle abstraction, minimal composition, and a reverence for flawed, weathered beauty.

Her work will be on display starting the First Saturday Art Walk, Feb. 7th from 3-7pm at Frame of Mind & Gold Leaf Coffee Co. during the Ormond Art Walk

It’s going to be a wide spread and walkable event day!

Time to start planning for Ormond's biggest art weekend! On Saturday, Feb 7, from 10 am - 4 pm, you can catch more than 80 artists and crafters at the 12th Annual Granada Grand Festival of the Arts. Then, from 3 pm - 7 pm, you can swing in to our galleries and museums for the monthly Ormond Art Walk

Make Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens one of your stops to see Melody Orser's "Wild Florida" 10-piece collection on display in the reception gallery. During this special event, Orser (.palette) will give a talk at 5:00pm, providing insight into her process.

“My work is greatly inspired by light. From a glimmer on the surface of water, to dappled light pouring through waves, to the brilliant glow of golden hour, light breathes life in nature and on the canvas. In this talk, I’ll share how I use saturated hues, strong contrast, and layered acrylic techniques to capture the essence of that light and how I use it to illuminate the beauty of wild Florida.”

Admission to Art Walk is always FREE, and you can ride the complimentary shuttle sponsored by Ormond MainStreet to visit all the stops. Beer and wine will be available for purchase inside the museum. More info at bit.ly/artwalk-ob

CALL TO ART
Notes on Love

For February, we’re creating a month-long, community-built art installation celebrating love in all its forms, and we would love for you to be part of it.

We’re inviting our artist community, creatives, and guests to contribute small, simple works inspired by love. This might be self-love, love for others, love for art, books, or place, or the quiet, everyday ways we show care.

This is not a juried exhibition. There is no application process. It’s simply an open invitation to create and share.

To participate, you may create a small paper-based piece, note-sized or postcard-sized, using any medium you love, including drawing, collage, poetry, mixed media, or handwritten notes. Pieces may be signed or anonymous. We will also have heart-shaped note cards available in the shop for anyone who would like to add a note on the spot.

Drop-off your piece in the shop anytime before or during Ormond Art Walk on Saturday, February 7, from 3 PM to 7 PM. All works will be displayed as part of the Notes on Love installation throughout the month of February.

Madison Sloan is the January 2026 featured artist at Frame of Mind. Come check out her pieces during the Ormond Art Walk on Saturday, January 3, from 3pm to 7pm, where hors d'oeuvres and wine will be served courtesy of Rosevilla Restaurant and Bar!

Sloan is a 23-year-old artist and photographer raised in Ormond Beach. Her creative practice began in childhood and has continued to evolve over time. This body of work marks a shift from her earlier pop art-influenced acrylic paintings toward a slower, process-driven practice rooted in stippling. Using thousands of small dots to build black-and-white images, the work relies on variations in density and proximity to create the illusion of shading and depth. Across the series, she focuses on light, intimacy, and moments of threshold, where figures sit between clarity and obscurity.
