We were so busy last night we hardly had time to catch any photos! Art After Hours at the PAC was hopping with wonderful art displays, raffles for ticket giveaways, art demonstrations, pottery sales and hands-on crafting for kids, along with our cash bar.

We also had a team down at the iHeart Media Summer Jam concert set up with a Spriggs truck. We had all volunteer hands on deck, but we did manage to capture this photo of our May "On Market Money" winners. ♡♡♡♡

🏡🧙‍♂️ Create Your Own Clay Gnome House Adventure! 🧙‍♀️🏡

Calling all young artists in grades 1-6! Join Libby and Jody in the clay studio for a fun, hands-on, two-part class where students will design and build their very own Gnome House and Gnomes from clay.

During the first class, participants will learn how to shape, build, and add details to their creations using real clay tools and techniques. One week later, they'll return to glaze their projects with colorful finishes before the pieces are fired in the kiln.

This class is more than just fun. Students will gain experience with clay construction, glazing, studio tools, and the ceramic process while developing creativity and problem-solving skills. It's a great introduction to the art of ceramics in a supportive environment.

Class Dates
• Tuesday, June 23 | 1-3 p.m. (Build Day)
• Tuesday, June 30 | 1-2 p.m. (Glaze Day)

Cost: $47.50
PAC Members receive a 20% discount

Finished projects will be available for pickup after firing. We'll notify families when they're ready to take home and enjoy.

Celebrate West Virginia Day by exploring the creativity of West Virginia artists right here at the PAC!

This week, our galleries are bursting with color, humor, imagination, and thought-provoking works from three wildly wonderful West Virginia artists featured in the Main, Whitlatch, and Mezzanine Galleries. You'll even find a few interactive pieces along the way! See a piece you love?! We would love to sell it to you! Supporting local artists is part of what we do!

Be sure to visit the South Gallery, where the Art Is Life/Life Is Art group of senior artists reminds us that creativity has no age limit. Their work is filled with fun, flair, and a healthy dose of "what the heck... let's go for it!"

The galleries are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is always free thanks to our Admission Sponsor, WVU Medicine CCMC.

All are welcome—even good dogs!

July session of Beginner Pottery on the Wheel begins July 2nd. Sign up here: https://www.parkersburgartcenter.org/adult-and-teen-classes-1/pottery-on-the-wheel-2

This course is an introduction to "throwing" clay vessels on a pottery wheel. Students will learn to center clay, create cylinders and produce small functional forms like bowls, saucers, and mugs. Students will also learn foot trimming, handle making, very simple decorative carving (chattering and chipping), and glaze application.

Class is for teens and adults. Each course is comprised of 4 classes meeting from 6-8:30 p.m. on Thursday evenings.

July Session: July 2, 9, 16, 23, 6-8:30 p.m.

The PAC is finally getting dressed up for the America 250 celebration! 🎨

Our windows are sporting a little Peace, Love & Art, and we're excited to join the community-wide celebration. We were hoping for a splash of blue, but apparently that paint is taking the scenic route to Parkersburg.

So stay tuned, there may be a few finishing touches still to come. In the meantime, stop by, say hello, and remember: everyone is welcome at the PAC. Come celebrate creativity, community, and summer with us!
