What are owl pellets?

Owl pellets are the parts of an owl’s meal that they can’t digest, such as bones, fur, feathers, and insect shells. After eating, owls regurgitate these materials in the form of a pellet. During our owl pellet dissection, participants will carefully examine the pellets to discover what the owl may have eaten!

And don’t worry, it’s not messy or gross! The pellets are sanitized and safe to handle, making this a fun and educational hands-on activity for all ages.

Join us on June 6 at 1:00 PM for this exciting event! We hope to see you there! 🦉

This Memorial Day, we remember Marine Lance Corporal Seth Ryan Huston of Perryton, Texas.

A 2003 graduate of Perryton High School, Seth answered the call to serve his country as a United States Marine with the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. Iraq was his first deployment, and according to his mother, although the war was tough on him, “he never wavered in his commitment to his duty.”

On August 21, 2004, at just 19 years old, Lance Corporal Huston was killed in action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq, alongside two fellow Marines after coming under fire from Iraqi insurgents. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart and is remembered for his pride, professionalism, and dedication to his country.

Caleb, a friend of Seth’s once wrote of Seth: “When I think of Seth I think of this… As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for I am the BADDEST Marine in this valley… I know and I believe in my heart that Seth is in Heaven.” Those words reflected the strength and spirit so many remembered in him.

Today, we honor Seth and all those who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸
