"115 years ago, E.W. Marland leased over 10,000 acres of land in hopes of striking oil.

After drilling more than 1,500 feet on land leased from Ponca Native Willie Cries-for-War, the well produced... thus creating the Marland Oil Company, and Ponca City became a boomtown.

But what if Marland never leased the land?"

The punchbowl, cups and trays are original Marland items returned to the Mansion by Gordon & Flo Collins Holland (cousins to Lydie).
The maker is international silver and the pattern is know as vintage.
You can view them in the beautiful dining room!

The oak paneled walls highlight the carved wood mantel that depicts two of Marlands favorite polo mounts. Marland brought both polo and fox hunting to Oklahoma.
The English Tudor was the style for his bedroom.
The elaborately carved bed, chest of drawers and dresser were originals and were returned to the Mansion in 2002.

The small octagon-shaped breakfast room is said to have been E.W.'s favorite. The wall's plaster relief represents the Tree of Life and the sconces are English hunting scenes. The outdoor staircase is visible through the east window. The Latin inscription on the balcony, loosely translated, reads: "A man's home is his castle."
