6 Drawer Painted Apothecary, available @ https://www.digantiques.com/.../54bd9499d488809f63de1bf8, TAG "Boxes"...A fabulous painted case of drawers. Late 18th. century, Lancaster County origin, having the original green painted surface. The apothecary has six (6) drawers. three of the drawers are divided and three are open. The drawer dividers are mortised into the case. The apothecary has a simple applied molding around the case. the drawers are tee nail construction with a simple scratch bead around the front. Circa 1790-1820. This size would lend itself to sitting on a counter, table or actually used as a side table. The apothecary measures 24 1/2 x 17 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches. Price: $2650.00 + shipping.

19th. C. adjustable Iron Floor Light available @ https://www.digantiques.com/.../54bd9499d488809f63de1bf8, TAG "Lighting and Accessories...This is quite an interesting floor light. It is circa 19th. century but has a modern flair to it as well. The best penny feet, nice and large. Shaped candle cup that ends in a nice drip tray. The shaft of the floor light has a series of holes and part of it slides up and down and can line up with the holes. There is a Rosehead nail that holds the height of the light in place. I believe the Rosehead nail is a later replacement. I am not sure what might have been there originally. The floor light can adjust from 27 at the shortest to 36 inches at the tallest. The condition is excellent. Nice heavy iron and such a pleasing form. American lighting. Price: $1395.00 + shipping

One being the original Red painted, well worn surface and the other being the amazing form of this piece. The table box is squarish and chunky all at the same time. It offers a great look and has a utilitarian form. Early square nailed construction. Circa mid to late 19th. century, American table box, carrier. The table box measures 14 x 10 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches to the handle. the sides of the box measure 3 inches. All in all a great piece with wonderful character.

The best original Red Painted surface that has aged beautifully. American beehive, treen bowl. Please not the small hole in the bowl. It doesn’t look hand made to me, why it is there I can’t imagine unless it was used to pour out liquid. A sweet piece of American treen.

This pipe rack has the best form, age and surface. The pipe box is quite stylized having tall, narrow form with scrolled workmanship, a lovely lollipop hanger and a drawer with original k**b. The paint is fabulous, being original Black exhibiting expected wear. The pipe rack measures 16 1/2 x 5 1/4 x 4 1/2 inches. The drawer has dovetailed construction and the box is constructed with square nails. This is a lovely piece, circa 1850-1860.

The size, age and condition of this serving tray make it stand out among all others. Quite a statement piece either on a good size country table or standing alone in a large cupboard or hearth mantle. This tray is made of Chestnut wood, before the Chestnut blight. Circa mid 19th. century or earlier. The quality of this tray is exemplified by the perfect shape and fine, thin cutting of the wood. Scribe marks are still visible on the bottom of the tray. These marks helped the maker define the proportions of the tray exactly. The surface is all original having its original thin coat of Brown paint. The bottom is carved with the makers initials. While the tray is flat the sides rise up just enough to give this piece body and elegance. The tray measures 31 x 19 1/2 x 3 inches rise. The condition is exceptional and so is the provenance.

Website update today @. https://www.digantiques.com/shop/browse/54bd9499d488809f63de1bf8 Such a wonderful example of a cross category piece of early American lighting. Quite naturally it fits into the American lighting category. I must say its form is quite unusual. It also fits the category of Civil War history as an example of a regimental double candle lantern. No matter how you choose to look at it, it is extremely interesting, beautiful and an example of extraordinary craftsmanship. The lantern was bought at a Civil War museum deaccession auction. Please note the 137th. New York infantry markings on the top of the lantern and the bold markings on the bottom of the lantern. This regiment was also know as the Ironclads. The lantern measures 12″ tall, 15″ including the bail handle. 12″ long and 5.5 ” deep. The lantern has a wooden lift arm that raises a cross bar that holds two candle cups. The lantern is in good functioning condition and exhibits age related wear, burn marks, old wax and museum markings. This example truly shows hand crafted workmanship even to the application of a heavy silvered paper on the underside of the top panel. I believe this was placed there to protect the wood from burning. Hand made pegs and joints are visible. More photos available
