Artist Panel this Sunday, June 21 at 11am
Join us for a special artist panel featuring Greg Wilbur, Kristin Mitsu Shiga, Peter Reich, and Zachary Pearson as they discuss the ideas and relationships behind Ball. While collaboration is central to the exhibition, the show also features individually created works, offering a broader view of each artist’s practice. Together, the artists will share insights into their approaches to metalwork, the role of mentorship, and the collaborative spirit that has shaped their creative work.
The conversation will offer a rare glimpse into the exchange of knowledge, skills, and inspiration that occurs when artists come together to make, teach, and learn from one another.
This panel is also an opportunity to celebrate Greg Wilbur's remarkable contributions to the Portland craft community and his final exhibition with Waterstone Gallery. Over four decades, Wilbur has built a respected career as an artist, educator, mentor, and collaborator, fostering connections through workshops, gatherings, and projects that bring makers together across disciplines. Whether you are an artist, collector, or simply curious about the creative process, this promises to be an engaging conversation about craftsmanship, community, individual expression, and the enduring value of making together.
