What a wonderful Saturday at the Art Center!

This weekend’s needle felting class was filled with creativity, laughter, and lots of fluffy wool as students learned how to transform simple fibers into beautiful felted landscapes.

From layering colors and textures to discovering how a simple barbed needle can create incredible works of art, everyone embraced the process and created truly unique pieces. The best part? Watching artists of all experience levels slow down, create with their hands, and leave with something they were proud of.

At the same time, our Totem Pole class was hard at work creating incredible pieces of their own! While those projects are still in progress and not quite ready for their debut, we are already amazed by the creativity, craftsmanship, and dedication being poured into them. We can’t wait to share the finished results soon!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made the studio feel so warm and inspiring. We absolutely love seeing our community come together to learn, create, and support one another.

Missed this class? Don’t worry—there’s always more creativity happening at the Art Center. Check out our website for more classes

‘Fiber & Fire’ opens tonight at Salmon River Fine Arts Center in Pulaski, NY. We hung the show on Tuesday, and watching it come together felt a bit like building a conversation between cloth and clay, texture and color, softness and structure. What makes this exhibition especially exciting is the way our different mediums and approaches meet, overlap, and bring out unexpected qualities in one another’s work.

I am thrilled for this opportunity and it is a pleasure to show my work among the very talented fiber artists: Allison Altalfi and Tina Limpert.

Exhibition on view thru the end of July! exhibit is free and may be viewed during gallery open hours: Thursdays and Fridays 12 pm – 6 pm and Saturdays 10 am – 2 pm.

Summer Art Camp Registration is NOW OPEN at the Salmon River Fine Arts Center! Fill out the Google form for registration!

We are so excited to offer another summer filled with creativity, imagination, exploration, and hands-on art experiences for young artists through our Young Artist Experience (YAE) Summer Camps! From pottery and watercolor to Pokémon art, board game design, plein air painting, science + art, and more — there is something for every creative child this summer.

LOTTERY REGISTRATION ✨

In an effort to provide equitable access and support for all families, we are using a lottery registration system for camp enrollment this summer. Because space is limited, completing the registration form lets us know your child is interested in attending camp, but it does not guarantee placement.

Families will receive notification emails by June 20th, letting them know whether their child has been accepted into camp or placed on the waitlist. This process helps us fairly distribute opportunities while also considering financial need and equitable support for all students in our community.

Flexible Pricing Available
We believe every child deserves access to the arts. Families can choose a payment amount that works best for them ($5–$40 per 4-day camp week), and scholarships are available with no questions asked.

Camps run Monday–Thursday with morning and afternoon sessions throughout July and August for ages 5–15.

What a wonderful evening at the Annual Members Meeting held at Stephanos Pizzeria as we celebrated another year of creativity, community, and growth at the Salmon River Fine Arts Center.

This year marked a special “passing of the torch” as we expressed our heartfelt gratitude to former President Ann Buchau for her dedication, leadership, and countless hours of service to the arts center and our community. Her passion and commitment have helped shape the organization into what it is today, and we are incredibly thankful for all she has done.

We are also excited to welcome and recognize our new leadership team:
• Judy Van Wie — President
• Rochelle Peabody — Vice President
• Anna Blachman — Treasurer
• Rochelle Peabody — Secretary (Interim)

Directors
Tom Lambert
Dyan Melnik
Joan Mullen
Patricia A. Tanner
Kate Walsh

Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting, shared ideas, supported the arts center, and continues to help our creative community thrive. We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead filled with art, education, outreach, and connection.
