ROOTED is officially underway at CARE Gallery. 🌿

What a beautiful beginning.

Art, storytelling and community came together as we opened ROOTED, featuring the work of Lorraine Simonds and Shantel Miller—an exhibition exploring the people, places, relationships and experiences that ground us and shape who we are becoming.

Guests heard directly from Lorraine Simonds during an engaging Artist Talk and experienced her creative process firsthand through a live watercolor portrait demonstration.

Shantel Miller’s thoughtful paintings deepen the conversation through explorations of faith, identity, community and belonging—offering another compelling perspective on what it means to be rooted.

Together, their works invite us to consider:
What keeps us rooted—and what grows from those roots?

The walls become empty. The artwork returns home. The lights dim.
But what remains is far greater than what hung on the walls.
Conversations that challenged us.
Stories that connected us.
Artists who inspired us.
Volunteers who served with joy.
Visitors who became part of a growing creative community.
As we close one chapter, we're already preparing the next.

Thank you for helping make CARE Gallery more than a place to view art. Together, we're building a space where creativity sparks dialogue, faith meets culture, and community flourishes.
