Now On View: "Reclaiming Our Stories: Reflecting on the Land," a pop-up banner display centering the voices, knowledge, and visions of California's Indigenous peoples.

⛰️ From the landscapes of 250 years ago to hard-won victories like the restoration of the Klamath River, the exhibit traces the living legacy of more than 200 tribes across the state, challenging visitors to reckon with the stories that have shaped our understanding of this land, and those that have been left out.

Captured in California's San Joaquin Valley, photographer Dorthea Lange's striking 1936 portrait of a young cotton picker is the central image in our new exhibit, "Help Wanted / Leave Now: 'Operation We***ck' & the Revolving Door of Mass Deportation." The exhibit features many images from Lange, whose powerful photography reveals the real people whose labor has underpinned much of America's economic growth.

This World Photography Day, we invite you to discover the work of era-defining photographer and inductee Dorothea Lange in "Help Wanted / Leave Now," and at the kiosk in the exhibit.
