Burt Murphy has been by his father's side watching him make great art as a glassblower since he was a little toddler. He didn't actually make his own artwork and sell them in galleries and gift shops in the rocky mountains of Colorado until he was around the age of 16 like his Dad, Ron Murphy. Even though that was some 30 years ago; Burt still considers himself The Apprentice and is happy to give
the title of Master glassblower to his father, Ron Murphy deserves that title (yeah his that good). Burt and Ron both live part-time in Mexico raising a family and had some hardships dealing with the pandemic. However, after talking to Burt we learned that he feels the pandemic of Covid actually helped him develop strong glass art skills and become a much better artist today and I think you will agree when you see his work alongside his father. He plans on moving back to the USA but in the meantime, he bulks ships all the work to home base at relatives in Fort Collins Colorado, and in turn, they dropship all the work through USPS to keep shipping costs low.
