After 38 wonderful years in downtown St. Joseph, Michigan, Gallery on the Alley is celebrating its final season. This has not been an easy decision, but it's the right one.
My lifelong passion for art led me to open Gallery on the Alley in 1988. It was my goal to bring the finest American artists and craftspeople to Southwest Michigan.
Through the years, we have displayed, supported and sold the works of over 900 artists. My husband John and I thoroughly enjoyed going to major wholesale shows and art fairs across the country discovering unique and creative art for our gallery. Many of our artists have become lifelong friends. It has been a fun, rewarding and enjoyable life.
I am grateful for the privilege of being a part of our beautiful city and for the support and love I've received from the community and visitors alike. I am also blessed to have had my daughter Sheila work with me the past few years. For sure I will miss my gallery, but I look forward to new adventures.
It is my intention to be permanently closed by the end of the year, although the exact date is still being determined.
