🦇 BAT SHOW 2026: NOCTURNAL EMISSIONS — ARTIST SPOTLIGHT🦇💕

This week we’re featuring Jared Konopitski, one of the artists taking a swing at Winston Smith’s infamous Alternative Tentacles bat for The Bat Show 2026: Nocturnal Emissions.

Now in its fourth year, The Bat Show brings together artists from near and far to mutate, reinvent, dismantle, resurrect, and otherwise have their way with Winston’s original bat—a scrappy little icon that’s been lurking around punk rock for more than four decades.

Jared Konopitski is an artist living and working in Sacramento, California. Jared primarily uses acrylic watercolor, spray paint and Procreate to create a visual sugar rush that is going to make your eyeballs smile. His work has been exhibited at galleries, festivals, and museums across the world.

While we don't want to reveal his bat art just yet, the pieces in the first two slides will be featured at the legendary Crocker Con happening on 09/20 at the Crocker Art Museum! The event is FREE!! BUT you do have to go get your digital RSVP ticket over at Crockerart.org .

Stay tuned—we’ll be unleashing a new Bat Show artist every week leading up to the show.

Homage to René Magritte — 2003 ✂️

An original Winston Smith collage where surrealism collides with religion, romance, consumer culture, and Bush-era America. A suitably strange salute to the master of the unexpected.

One-of-a-kind and available exclusively at StudioFallout.com

Straight from 1980—and apparently not much has changed. ⛽💸

This **original Winston Smith piece** takes aim at the insanity of gasoline prices with the kind of cut-and-paste satire Winston was creating at the very beginning of his career. More than 45 years later, the joke still hits a little too close to home.

**Original artwork • 1980 • For Sale**

A genuine piece of early Winston Smith history, fresh out of the archives and looking for a new home.

Meet Cricket, Michael Angelo Torres’ famously opinionated dog, featured here in all his graphic glory. Inspired by Michael’s book "Cricket Doesn’t Like to Potty Outside," this shirt celebrates one very particular dog and his very particular point of view.

With its bold black-and-white portrait and punky ransom-note lettering, “Cricket the Dog” is part dog portrait, part public service announcement, and a whole lot of personality. Old dogs. New tricks. Support senior rescue! A portion of the proceeds supports senior dog rescue.
