“Printed Legacies: A Community Silkscreening Demonstration with JAM50 Exhibit Artists”
Saturday, January 31, 2026, 12 pm – 4 pm

Join JAM50 artist Rich Tokeshi and friends at NJAHS for a silkscreening program centered on passing tradition from one generation to the next. The first half of the event will feature a live silkscreening demonstration, offering insight into the history, techniques, and cultural significance of the practice. In the second half, participants will take part in a guided takeaway silkscreen activity, creating a printed piece to bring home. Together, we’ll celebrate printmaking as a living tradition—one sustained through shared knowledge, creativity, and collective memory ❤️

Together, we honor their legacy. Together, we remember.

February 20–22, 2026 at Presidio San Francisco

“I Am An American: The Nisei Soldier Experience” is a powerful traveling exhibit, recounting the storied history of American Soldiers of Japanese ancestry who demonstrated their loyalty through military service during World War II, amid the racial tension that followed Japan’s attacks on Pearl Harbor. Visitors will witness dozens of firsthand accounts, historical photos and rarely displayed artifacts that present the extraordinary courage and sacrifices of Nisei Soldiers, including those who comprised the most decorated unit in U.S. military history for its size and duration of service.

Pictured is Terry Shima, 442nd RCT, a 102-year old veteran, who serves as a tireless advocate of the Japanese American World War II soldiers.

Join us for a historic three-day celebration featuring a Salute to Service evening event, special programs, hospitality and an exclusive first look at the exhibit — available only during Opening Weekend — before it begins its 11-city national tour.
