Adam 5100 Feibelman is infamous for his labor-intensive multi-layered, hand-cut stencil paintings, which are the basis of his current work — small-scale freehand paper collages from the remains of his stencils and large-scale steel installation in public spaces. A hallmark of his artistic efforts is the palpable evolution in his process. The tools of his trade have become the focus of his work, as are research and discovery, experimentation and practical application. His large-scale installations can be seen at Chase Center in San Francisco, Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, the BART Station in Antioch, and more. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, he arrived in San Francisco in 1997 on the California College of Arts (and Crafts)’ Yozo Hamaguchi scholarship to earn degrees in both illustration and printmaking. He continues to live and work in SF.
