New series from Francis Schuck, "Queens Kitchen" 30" x 24", mixed media. Francis' paintings on recycled bed linen carries a kind of quiet rebellion. It takes something intimate, worn, and overlooked, and turns it into a surface for bold expression. The soft weave of the fabric adds its own history to the piece—creases, frayed edges, and subtle discolorations become part of the composition, blurring the line between material and message. Working on reclaimed linen also grounds the artwork in sustainability, transforming everyday textiles into textured fields of color, gesture, and emotion. It’s art that doesn’t just challenge form, but also reimagines where beauty can begin.
