This week we’re proud to spotlight Beverly Stevener for her continued dedication to the Sikeston Rodeo Museum and the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo community. 🤠

If there’s an event happening, chances are Bev is there helping make it successful. From volunteering at the rodeo year after year to assisting with the Historic Downtown Sikeston Wine Festival and other community events, she is always willing to step in wherever help is needed.

Volunteers like Bev are a huge part of what keeps our traditions, events, and community spirit going strong. We’re thankful for her time, servant heart, and commitment to preserving the history and legacy of the rodeo for future generations.

From the Archives 🤠

Who remembers these Winston Rodeo seat cushions from the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo? This one dates back to 1980, back when Winston was a major sponsor of our rodeo.

Did you ever own one of these? Better yet… does anyone still bring theirs to the rodeo every year? Share your memories (or photos) in the comments.

Bonus points if you noticed the ‘Boothill’ spelling on the cushion.

This week we’re proud to spotlight Ryan Lindsey for our Volunteer Spotlight at the Sikeston Rodeo Museum. 🤠

Ryan has been a longtime supporter of the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo, serving as President in 2012 and Rodeo Chairman in 2015. His passion for rodeo history and giving back to the community continues through his time volunteering at the museum.

Ryan says he enjoys hearing old rodeo stories from visitors and sharing his own with those who may not be familiar with the history and tradition behind the rodeo. He also hopes bringing his daughter along helps pass that appreciation on to the next generation.

Thank you, Ryan, for helping preserve and share the legacy of the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo and the Sikeston Rodeo Museum.

The stories behind Sikeston’s rodeo don’t tell themselves—and volunteers like Ross Kasting make sure they’re shared.

Through his involvement with the Sikeston Jaycees, Ross has developed a strong appreciation for the history and impact of the rodeo, and he brings that knowledge into his time at the Sikeston Rodeo Museum. He enjoys helping visitors learn more about the rodeo’s roots and the role it plays in our community. Ross’s passion for preserving history doesn’t stop there. He also occasionally volunteers at the Stars and Stripes Museum, showing a genuine commitment to sharing stories that matter.

We appreciate the time and dedication Ross gives to helping keep these stories alive for others to experience.
