It should come as no surprise when we say that Ava was a lover of music. Big band music, jazz, and plenty in between. At Ava Gardner Museum, we have a robust collection of Ava's personal records; one of which is a well loved copy of Black Coffee by Ella Fitzgerald. 🌹 Wake up and smell the roses🌹
Frank Sinatra sent Ava a bouquet of yellow roses for her birthday, every year, even after their final separation in 1957. At Ava Gardner Museum, we've eternalized their love with our permanent yellow rose garden. Making it doubly sentimental, this rose garden was originally sponsored by Carmen Vargas, Ava's close companion and personal assistant until her death in 1990.
You can visit our outdoor rose garden day in and day out.

Recently, our Lead Docent, Sarah, received a phone call from a lovely woman who we have not made contact with before. She called to tell us that she would be sending an artifact to the Museum. (Now, we get these phone calls pretty often, and sometimes they lead to nowhere. Our excitement remains the same!)
A few weeks had passed and Sarah received a package in the mail addressed to her. Sarah opened it to find a beautiful blouse that allegedly belonged to Ava. After further behind-the-scenes inspection, we found Ava's name within the blouse. Now to find out which movie this comes from!
Two of our dedicated Board members, Donna and Dean, put their heads together and found this photo used for promotion for Lone Star (1952). Can you spot Kathryn Grayson's cameo? 😉
