The gallery at Country Squire Pottery holds the pottery works of Susan Amann and other artists of the studio. Both functional and sculptural pieces are available for purchase. The studio is a small but mighty space where artists come together to work and share ideas. Raku workshops are offered monthly, when the weather cooperates. Please contact the studio if you are interested in lessons, a workshop, or coming in to check out the gallery!

This week we started our “Bowl Swap” project!!! All the potters made a bowl. Next week, everyone will get someone else...

This week we started our “Bowl Swap” project!!! All the potters made a bowl. Next week, everyone will get someone else’s bowl (they won’t know who’s) to trim and alter! After all alterations are done and bowls are bisqued, potters will get yet a different bowl to glaze! Always a fun project! In the end, when finished bowls are displayed, they have been transformed so well that most potters can’t guess which bowl was theirs! Stay tuned for finished photos in a few weeks!

We had an amazing day of Raku firing!! Great work by all! Photos of some of the finished to come but enjoy these pictures of the process! Heat, fire, flames, horsehair, salt water, sugar, water plunging, scrubbing… all to some wonderful endings! Thanks to many of you also for the food and help with clean up… and to Candy (my back thanks you for helping with the kiln lifts… among other things).
