One of my favorite vessels - the State of Michigan just cruised past Cap’n Jim’s Gallery heading North. She’s a beautiful 224’ floating classroom training ship that is operated by the Great Lakes Maritime Academy which is based at Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City, Michigan.

The Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum will celebrate the 20th anniversary of arriving at its home in Mackinaw City on June 20.

The day begins with an anniversary ceremony from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, honoring the people, partners, and community who made it all possible!

After the ceremony, the celebration continues with a parking lot party featuring:
🚢 Free tours of the ship all day
🌭 Free food
🎶 Music and fun
