Since joining the Foundation in 2013, de Bos has organized and expanded the papers, photographic materials, and digital assets in the Viola Frey Archives, as well as overseen exhibitions, research and publications, and public programming. De Bos is the co-editor and a contributor to Frey’s first monograph, Viola Frey: Artist’s Mind/Studio/World (2024), which will be on display at Visions In Clay, along with a few of Frey’s work from the Archives.
 
Viola Frey (1933-2004) is an Alum Emeritus of San Joaquin Delta College (1953-1954) where she took her first ceramics class with Professor Bruce Duke. After two years at Delta College, she transferred to California College of the Arts and Crafts, Oakland, where she studied ceramics and majored in painting, which Frey integrated to create a barrier-breaking artistic practice.

LGBTQ+ Advocacy through the Arts culminating event held on April 2nd in celebration of Trans Day of Visibility had a fantastic turnout, with folks stopping by to pickup their free posters, try their hand at printmaking, and pick up resource information for the LGBTQ+ community.

Thank you to the student artists for their extraordinary work to present this event, which included distributing posters reproduced from their original fine art prints, and a hands-on printmaking demonstration for visitors to print 8x11 prints from original linoleum plates made specifically for the small press.

Also presenting at the event, Delta College Pride Coalition (DCPC - faculty, staff, and managers), Delta College Pride Center and SJDC student clubs, Delta Pride Club and Lavender House.
