Absraction Abstract Acrylic /oil paintings for sale Donna Varble

Donna is an artist born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1951, who never felt like she belonged.

Early in life, she escaped the monotony and limitations of her surroundings and traveled through Europe. While in France, Germany, Belgium, and Switzerland, she fell in love with both the modernity and the timeless classic beauty surrounding her. However, Donna, early on, chose to work in abstraction. She did not want to repeat the outside world and rather expressed her own emotional theater. She

often says:“Abstract art allows me and my public the total freedom to think and rethink the world.” However, Her art is highly influenced by the solidity of the grey and black color schemes of the urban scenary she loves. As she later traveled through Italy, Spain, Morocco, and
Israel, she experimented with sunny bolder color schemes, exploding in her darker palette. From Play Boy Bunny, to art teacher, to drug counselor; she has ventured from the lightest to the darkest side of humanity. Her art reflects this duality in her deep contrast of shapes and textures from monochromatic cubism to more organic tendencies. Donna’s work is solid and mature, virile and bold. Yet, it allows us to doubt, to imagine, and to swing from both polarities of our moods; with Donna, both war and peace are strong and intertwined. As a trained sculptor, she naturally brings volume and density to her paintings and prefers using sharp tools to the fragile brushes. Her compositions are steady, structured, balanced while offering an element of spontaneous intensity and adventurous potency. This combination makes for a powerful body of work. She resides in Towson, Maryland, where she received her degree in Fine Arts and where she currently freelances as an artist. Her work can be seen and purchased at Art Gallery International, Abstract World, and 1 create.co. among other sites.
