✨ Inside Crooked Tree II ✨

What a beautiful evening celebrating art and creativity at Crooked Tree Arts Center! 🤍 Crooked Tree Arts Center - Traverse City

I’m so grateful to have three of my original paintings included in this wonderful exhibition alongside so many talented artists.

I attended the opening tonight, and it was such a joy to see all the incredible artwork, connect with fellow artists, and experience the creativity that makes our Northern Michigan arts community so special. Kristy Kurjan of KPO Creative Studios KPO Creative Studios

A huge thank you to Crooked Tree TC and Petoskey for bringing artists and our community together. Feeling inspired and honored to be part of it!

If you’re in Northern Michigan, I encourage you to stop by and explore the exhibit. There is so much talent to discover!

💕 Breast Cancer Awareness Month | Introducing “Double Mastectomy” 💕 A little over a year and a half ago, I underwent a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer. During my recovery, I started creating this piece of artwork. At the time, I was healing physically, but I was also beginning to process everything that had happened to my body, my mind, and my life.

One thing I’ve learned through breast cancer is that **recovery doesn’t end when the surgery is over.**The physical pain eventually begins to fade. The incisions heal. You slowly find your way back to everyday life. But the emotional and mental recovery? That can take so much longer.

As an abstract artist, I’ve always used art to express feelings that aren’t necessarily easy to put into words. With this piece, I wanted to acknowledge the physical reality of a double mastectomy, but also the emotions, vulnerability, strength, and healing that come afterward.

I started this painting during recovery, and it’s taken me until now to feel ready to share it with the world. I’m calling it “Double Mastectomy.” It’s personal. It’s vulnerable. And it’s a reminder that healing isn’t always something we can see.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I’m releasing this original framed artwork, and a portion of the profits will go toward supporting women facing breast cancer right here in the Traverse City, Michigan area. 💕

💕 Breast Cancer Awareness Month | Introducing “Double Mastectomy”

A year and a half ago, I underwent a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer. During my recovery, I began creating this piece of artwork. As my body healed, I was also starting to process everything that had changed—physically, emotionally, and in my everyday life.

One thing breast cancer has taught me is that recovery doesn’t end when surgery is over. The physical pain gradually eases. Incisions heal. Little by little, you begin finding your way back to daily routines. But the emotional and mental parts of healing often take much longer.

As an abstract artist, I’ve always turned to art to express feelings that are difficult to put into words. With this piece, I wanted to acknowledge not only the physical reality of a double mastectomy, but also the vulnerability, strength, uncertainty, and healing that follow.

I began this painting during recovery, but it took time before I felt ready to share it. I’m calling it “Double Mastectomy.” It is personal and vulnerable, and it serves as a reminder that healing is not always visible.

🌊 Linen Shore 🤍

Inspired by the quiet beauty of the shoreline, the softness of natural textures, and the calm that comes from being near the water.

I’m honored to share that Linen Shore will be featured in an upcoming exhibition at Crooked Tree Arts in Traverse City. There’s something special about seeing a piece find its place beyond the studio and connect with others in a new way. Crooked Tree Arts Center - Traverse City
