Filled with the collections & stories of the settlement & growth of Troy, we use these buildings to bring history to life for visitors. The Troy Historic Village includes eleven historic structures in a charming five-acre complex located in the heart of Troy, Michigan. Here visitors of all ages can explore Michigan history by witnessing and sharing the lifestyles of the pioneers who established ho

mes and farms in rural Troy Township during the 1800's. The carefully restored and fully furnished buildings include:

• A log cabin (1840)
• A Greek revival home (1865)
• A brick one-room school (1877)
• Print shop
• Wagon shop
• Town hall (1900)
• A general store (1918)
• A turn-of the-century church and parsonage

Check in at the Main Building (Old Troy Township Hall) and check out the gift shop before you leave. The Troy Historic Village serves the counties of Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb, providing a memorable and interactive museum experience for all vistors. Offering a wide variety of activities for children and a diverse range of lectures and events for adults, the Village aims to enhance appreciation of history while using Troy’s rich and evolving story as a backdrop.

Our Watercolor Art Journaling Class on tomorrow, June 17, from 5:30-8:30pm, is a mindful class sure to relax you and put you in the moment as you observe your relationship with life through pen and paint. Megan Swoyer Watercolor Artist will demonstrate journaling techniques that you can do during class and in the weeks following class.

No experience is necessary; all supplies will be provided including a journal and pen. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.

Bring your reading to life by putting yourself in the shoes of some of your favorite characters from historical books! This first program in the series will be on Tuesday June 23 from 4:30-6pm. We will be focusing on the story of the American Girl Doll Kirsten who was a pioneer in Minnesota in 1854. Participants will learn about transportation of the era, help with chores around the Log Cabin, and make a rag doll to take home.

This program will run for approximately 90 minutes. Appropriate for ages 7 to 12. Participants do not need to have read the book, but it is suggested. Kids must be attended by a paying adult.

We are Open Late today until 7pm! Come by for a regular visit all day that includes a self-guided tour and a scavenger hunt.

Play Games on the Green beginning at 4pm! Join in some historic summer playtime with our unique toys and equipment. Test your balancing skills on stilts or play a friendly game of stick and hoop. Find out what the games graces is or play a relaxing game of horseshoes or co****le. Pedal Cars will also be available for kids to test drive (for ages 3-8 years old only). All of these activities are included with General Admission - which is FREE for kids all summer long thank to Troy Community Foundation.

Join us for our next Constitution Cafe on Sunday June 14 at 2pm! This program is FREE!

We'll be discussing the Right to Natural Resources. North Carolina's Constitution requires the State government to "protect its lands and waters for the benefit of all its citizenry. Montana requires "state and each person...maintain and improve a clean and healthful environment..." Is it time we add such a provision to the Federal Constitution?

Constitution Cafés are an open discussion using the Socratic Method of inquiry to explore different aspects of the USA Constitution and Amendments each month. These open discussions are led by Oakland County lawyer John Kulesz, and civil discussion is prioritized to create a safe environment to ask questions.
