We celebrate the rich diversity of crafts, trades, and practices of our region. The foundation preserves and shares the nation's largest collection of historic log cabins known as Hart Square Village, an open-air museum of 103 original structures constructed between 1760 to 1880. All of these structures tell the larger story of American history and the specific story of North Carolina's regional heritage.

This Saturday, experience a Hart Square Village Autumnal celebration, the annual Fall Heritage Festival. For the 41st year, the cabins are bustling with docents, craftspeople and musicians. The village comes alive with the sounds, aromas and flavors of 1800s America.

New to Hart Square? Hart Square Village is open year round; home to the largest collection of historic log cabins, offering a truly unique experience. Each cabin tells a story, and there is an adventure around every corner. The Fall Heritage Festival is a special time where not only are all cabins open, but hundreds of historians, artisans and demonstrators bring the village to life. We are located in the foothills of North Carolina, in Vale. We can’t wait to show you the magic of Fall in the village.

We are two days out from the event of the year, and the village is bustling with our team of volunteers as we prepare for the 41st Fall Heritage Festival.

One thing all volunteers agree on: the village is truly magical this time of year. We cannot wait to share the magic with you. We hope to see you this Saturday, 10am to 5pm.

🎟️ Ticket prices are $50 for adults, $25 for teens, and 13 and under are FREE. Admission includes entry to all 103 historic log cabins as well as craft demonstrations, Foodways throughout the site, and various spots to enjoy live music.
