We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the members of the East Dover First Aid Squad of Toms River for entrusting us with their former first responder vehicle, a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1.

An iconic emergency vehicle of the 1990s, this well-preserved Caprice represents an era when the 9C1 package became the standard for law enforcement, fire, and EMS support vehicles across the country. We are proud to add this piece of emergency service history to our collection.

The vehicle will become part of our "Rolling Display" program and will be making appearances at various events throughout the region this year, helping us share the history of emergency services with the public.

Thank you to East Dover First Aid Squad for helping preserve this important piece of your history for future generations.

Our 1920 Ford Model T is getting ready to leave campus this weekend for some much-needed mechanical work.

While not a fire apparatus itself, this Model T represents a pivotal turning point in fire service history. Its affordability gave many fire departments their first opportunity to transition from horse-drawn apparatus to motorized equipment. In some cases, departments simply mounted their existing horse-drawn hose carts and chemical wagons onto Model T chassis, eliminating the need for horse teams and bringing firefighting into the modern era.

As we work to preserve this piece of automotive history, we are also preserving the story of how fire departments adapted to changing technology in the early 20th century.

We look forward to welcoming the Model T back home soon!

The Southern Monmouth County Fire Museum extends its sincere thanks to the Cotta family of Farmingdale, New Jersey for their generous donation of this 1967 International / Hahn fire engine.

This 750-gallon pumper was purchased new by the Farmingdale Fire Department in August of 1966 for $5,975, and faithfully served the Farmingdale community for three decades before being retired in 1996.

We are especially grateful to Dustin and Callan Cotta for entrusting our organization with the next chapter of this rig’s life. Well documented and rich in local history, this engine is a meaningful and welcome addition to the Monmouth Fire Museum collection, ensuring its story will be preserved and shared for generations to come.
