Made myself a simple Santoku to try out some steel that’s new to me. N690 was easy to work with and heat treat so I’m looking forward to seeing the performance. I’ll keep you posted!

Look! A non-commission piece that’s actually available!
I redid the finish on this gal 4 times before I just blasted it. Hamons are tough and unpredictable and I just couldn’t get the look I wanted with normal handsanding and etching, but I’m pleasantly surprised with how this came out!
