At this point, we’re fully committed to the duck lifestyle - and you should too! Adopt your duck by 6:25 pm Friday, June 12. Then join us at Exploration Place for one of Wichita’s most exciting summer events as thousands of ducks are released into a live river race.

Each duck is numbered and if yours crosses the finish line first, you win $10,000! Best of all, every duck helps support hands-on science and discovery in our community.

Don't forget! Tomorrow morning is the Riverfest River Run and it will be taking place near the museum. If you are planning on arriving at the museum before 10 am, you'll want to use this map for the only route that gets you to the Exploration Place parking lot.

The run is scheduled to be over at 10 am and road barricades will come down shortly after.

Visiting Exploration Place this Saturday and arriving before 10 am? The Riverfest River Run will cause temporary road closures near the museum during the morning hours. Use the highlighted route on the map for the easiest way to reach Exploration Place before 10 am.

Rise 'n Shine! Riverside Yoga and Zumba is back May 9 through September 19. Join us at the Wichita Foundation Amphitheater every Saturday, weather permitting, to stretch, dance or just enjoy a fun start to your weekend. All ages and experience levels are welcome.

The museum is open until 9 pm so come early, explore the exhibits, grab dinner at the food trucks and then watch a movie under the stars! * NEW event map for 2026 *
