Today, aboard the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA, hundreds gathered to pause, reflect, and honor the service and sacrifice of those who gave their lives for our country. From the ringing of the bell to stories of courage and resilience, it was a meaningful Memorial Day observance filled with remembrance, gratitude, and community.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in honoring North Carolina’s “Immortal 11,000” and all who made the ultimate sacrifice. Special thanks to Vice Admiral John G. Morgan, Jr., Navy (Ret.), Becky Aikman, author of "Spitfires: The American Women Who Flew in the Face of Danger in World War II," and the U.S. Navy Sea Cadets Torpedo Squadron 8 for making our observance especially meaningful today.
