Keteleer Gallery presents Déjalat, the first-ever exhibition of a series of previously unseen works on paper by Philippe Van Snick (1946–2019, Belgium), offering an intimate glimpse into the artist’s world of living and thinking.

Van Snick is regarded as one of the most important Belgian artists of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. Starting from a strict decimal system (0–9), he developed a coherent and multifaceted body of work in which painting, works on paper, photography, installation, and sculpture converge. His characteristic ten-color palette, expanded in 1984 with the duality of day and night, forms a visual grammar in which system and sensitivity remain in constant balance. Although his practice is often associated with minimal and conceptual art, it transcends these categories through its poetic and deeply personal dimension.

Opening on Thursday 14 May, coinciding with the Antwerp Art Weekend, from 12 - 9pm.

Keteleer Gallery is very pleased to present Champagne and Strawberries, a solo exhibition by Mircea Suciu (b.1978, Baia Mare, RO). Suciu's first exhibition since joining the gallery will consist of an entirely new series of paintings.

Champagne and strawberries evokes a state of effortless perfection—luxury, refinement, celebration and sensory indulgence. It conjures a world untouched by friction, a surface of pleasure unmarred by consequence. Yet here, the phrase is mobilized as a paradox. It becomes a deliberately dissonant title, a gesture not of affirmation but of refusal. In a world increasingly defined by conflict, instability, and moral fatigue, such an image of indulgence operates as a Dada-like inversion—an ironic celebration staged against a backdrop of collapse.

Join us for drinks on the public opening on Saturday 9 May from 2 - 6pm, in presence of the artist.

On the occasion of Art Brussels 2026, Keteleer Gallery invites you into a carefully curated selection of works across painting, sculpture, drawing and installation. The gallery features both familiar voices and exciting new additions. This year's group presentation consists of works by:

Stephan Balkenhol - Joëlle Dubois - Daan Gielis - Enrique Marty - Naofumi Maruyama - Guy Van Bossche - Antoine Roegiers - Valgerður Sigurðardóttir - Mircea Suciu - Floris Van Look - Sybren Vanoverberghe - Philippe Van Snick

Solo Presentation: Marc Bauer

For its third solo‐presentation at the fair, Keteleer Gallery proudly dedicates a curated stand to the acclaimed Swiss artist Marc Bauer (b. 1975,Geneva; lives and works in Zurich). For over two decades Bauer has established a practice that is at once analytical and poetic, socially engaged and deeply personal. Drawing serves as more than medium: it is lens, archive, witness. He reconfigures found images — from family albums to news feeds — and dissects image-culture, memory, power, politics. His black-and-white drawings, expansive wall-works and installations create a visual theatre of our collective condition: the ways we see, recall, forget.

We look forward to welcome you at booth 5B-03 & 5B-07.

Keteleer Gallery is honoured to announce the representation of the oeuvre of Philippe Van Snick (1946-2019. Born in Ghent, lived & worked in Brussels (BE) & Le Bos Nord (FR)).

A selection of works will be presented at the gallery's booth and a first solo exhibition will be presented 14 May, 2026, on the occasion of weekend.

Philippe Van Snick developed a highly distinctive body of work grounded in the logic of the decimal system (0–9), which became the conceptual and structural foundation of his practice from the early 1970s onwards. Through drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, film, and installation, he explored how limitation can generate infinite variation. By adopting a self-imposed framework based on ten numbers and a corresponding palette of ten colours; including primary and secondary hues, black and white, and the material tones gold and silver; Van Snick created an open system in which mathematics and poetics converge.

Van Snick exhibited widely in Belgium and internationally. His work is held in major public collections, including S.M.A.K., M HKA, Middelheim Museum, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and the Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Serralves. In 2017, he was awarded the Flemish Ultima for Visual Arts.

Philippe Van Snick’s oeuvre stands as a testament to the generative power of constraint, an enduring and rigorous exploration of perception, order, and poetic clarity, rooted as much in lived observation as in conceptual precision.
