MARIA ÑÍGUEZ
until June 13
I am very happy to present six works on paper by young talent until June 13 at the gallery. I am very excited with this new collaboration, her world and work combine all the things I love!
María Ñíguez (Murcia, 1997) explores dreamlike and ambiguous scenes in which narrative is suspended in favor of a dense emotional atmosphere. Her painting investigates the psychological relationships between figures, particularly around the female form and its bond with its surroundings: women caught in tense affective dynamics, never entirely explicit. Her work is permeated by a constant tension between desire and fear, between eroticism and the uncanny.
Far from offering closed narratives, Ñíguez encodes intimate experiences into images open to multiple interpretations. The scene is never fully resolved: it is the viewer who must inhabit that uncertainty and complete its meaning through their own reading.
