2026 – The Year of Alina Szapocznikow at UNESCO headquaters
The Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Poland to UNESCO organised a special cultural event dedicated to the life and extraordinary legacy of one of the most profound sculptors of the 20th century.
The event will feature a lecture by Dr. Justyna Napiórkowska, followed by a screening of the documentary film "Every Touch Leaves a Trace", offering a deep dive into the artist's moving story and creative process.
Alina Szapocznikow’s groundbreaking approach to materials and her deeply personal, intimate artistic language forever revolutionized our perception of the human body, memory, and the fragility of existence.
This event is organized in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Artist’s birth, honoring her enduring impact on global art history.

La Délégation permanente de la République de Pologne auprès de l'UNESCO a organisé un événement culturel exceptionnel dédié à la vie et à l'héritage remarquable de l'une des sculptrices les plus marquantes du XXe siècle.
Le programme de l'événement comprendra une conférence du Dr Justyna Napiórkowska, suivie de la projection du film documentaire « Chaque contact laisse une trace », qui met en lumière l'histoire bouleversante et la démarche créative de l'artiste.
L'approche novatrice de la matière par Alina Szapocznikow, associée à un langage artistique profondément personnel et intime, a révolutionné à jamais le regard porté sur le corps humain, la mémoire et la fragilité de l'existence.
